JULY 2003

July 2nd (?) A slow trickle of updates continues. The CCA subsection is being updated and will probably get several designs of its own while I learn Studio MX in the coming weeks --- I bought a bunch of books to work through. Read 122 pages of Dreamweaver 4 f/x and Design this morning between classes and found very little that was new to me... that's the disadvantage of buying outdated books cheap. The new books (4 of them) hurt the wallet but will teach me some new tricks, like programming interactive games in Flash MX.

July 9th...posted petz adopted from Nécessité and Ratqueen Kennelz & Cattery and a new CCA Tonkinese! Jump menus added to compress the number of links on the upper navigation bar. A link to the top has been added to the bottom of pages. I am also planning to turn off URL cloaking within the next day --- this means that you will see the "real" address for each page that you visit. All of this is with ease-of-use in mind as I continue my quest to become a web guru. :)

July 14th...saw that some of our sheepdogs have found a great home at Voodoo Rain Kennelz! Don't you want to download some sheepdogz too? Today I also put the older updates on their own page.

If you're wondering why so much stuff has just been added that isn't on the main navigation, I am shuffling some things around behind the scenes. It will probably be a couple of days before it's all worked out again... I didn't feel like messing with the template tonight, since that would mean a big upload.

Coming updates: We got a couple of awards *grins* but I haven't uploaded that folder tonight. I am also working on some additional animated GIFs - angel sheepdogs will show up in the cyberpet area sometime this week, and a new logo will grace this page with its coolness! :D

Long term (rest of the summer) - I am working on setting up my own Linux server to play with. Once I get it up, a lot of the older stuff (Petz 3 downloads, Petz Theater, Creatures) will probably move there. There should be no visible difference to MagnoliaPetz.com - but it will make it easier for me to update, and save space on my family's paid account. The new server will also host my sister's Fantasy Kennel Club, an oekaki board for her site (where people can draw and whatever), and probably some forums for MagnoliaPetz.com... I think it would be cool to have forums here, as long as y'all don't get to be too much of a handful. ;)

JUNE 2003

A webpage redesign to streamline the site and delete some old stuff... like that counter that has been generating an error message since the last server move. You may have noticed that our domain was down for a few weeks --- our domain name renewal failed and I didn't catch it fast enough. It took a while for the re-registered domain to be fully nameserved again.
